Smartway Trailers will be holding a food drive on December 12th in association with the Helping Hand Food Bank of Bradford. On December 12th between 10 - 1 during the day, Smartway Trailers will be driving through neighbourhoods in town collecting donations and filling up our trailer with items to give to the Helping Hand Food Bank.
Not only will we be driving through the town, but we will be accepting calls from residents that want us to come to them to pick up donations. We will come to your neighbourhood to pick up donations from you with contactless pick-up.
We believe during these times, it’s the perfect opportunity for us to do something great within the community, and everyone has a chance to help out!
Smartway’s Fill a Trailer Food Drive Supports Bradford Just In Time
Smartway Trailers will be running a food drive later this month in support of the Helping Hand Food Bank here in Bradford. Smartway will be driving around neighbourhoods across town collecting items for the food drive in one of their trailers.
The “Fill a Trailer” food drive will take place on December 12th. Smartway will be cruising through neighbourhoods from 10 to 1 during the day on Saturday. They are encouraging residents of Bradford to reach out (prior to December 12th) if they have a large amount of items that they would be interested in donating, and they will come right to your door!
“We really wanted to do something big. It’s obvious that this year took a toll on a lot of people and unfortunately the people who got hit the hardest are people who already needed help to begin with. We just wanted to do our part as best as we can.” Chris Smart - Co-Owner
Covid-19 safety precautions will be strictly followed. Smartway asks that participants please wear masks, and practice social distancing when approaching the trailer.
A representative from the helping hand food bank shared what is needed. Things like: diapers, baby wipes, peanut butter, jam, cereal, juice, crackers, canned fruit, canned veggies, pasta, canned beans, tuna, KD, toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo, are some of their biggest needs at the moment.
